A man from a Sydney suburb of Prestons is walking into 2024 with a million reasons to smile, having secured a million-dollar prize in the recent Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4351, held on Wednesday 27 December 2023, saw four division one winners across Australia, each taking home a $1 million share. The Prestons winner is already making plans to purchase a new home with his winnings.
“I checked my ticket last night, just after the draw,” he exclaimed when a lotto official called to confirm his prize in the morning.
“I thought, ‘oh unreal, I’ve done well!’.
“Thank you! Thank you. I’m overwhelmed. I had a restless sleep last night. I’m just walking around enjoying this time.
“I picked these numbers. I’ve been thinking about these numbers for the past few months. They’re some of the numbers I like and so I started playing them. I’m glad I did.
“I’ll be buying a house in 2024, that’s for sure!”
His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased online at the official website. The winning numbers for the draw were 20, 30, 29, 15, 17, and 23, with supplementary numbers 21 and 31. The draw was a windfall for several players, with two victors from New South Wales and one each from South Australia and Queensland.
