NSW opens Pfizer vaccine registrations to 1 million residents

NSW residents aged 40 to 49 can now register for a Pfizer vaccination and could receive their first shot "within weeks" at the NSW Health Vaccination Centre at Sydney Olympic Park.

The registration page explains that residents aged 50 and over can make an appointment for the AstraZeneca vaccine only from Wednesday 12 May 2021.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejikian said people registered their interests online for COVID vaccination would be contacted to make an appointment.

“We can't tell you exactly when you’ll be getting the jab but we’ll be able to give you enough notice to get yourself here in the coming weeks.”

“That’s around a million people in NSW,” she added, noting that the state has an adult population of 6 million.
