NSW Police Prepare for King-Queen Sydney Visit

The NSW Police Force will be conducting Operation 'Royal Visit' in support of the visit to Australia by His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty Queen Camilla.

The operation will run from today (Friday 18 October 2024) to Wednesday (23 October 2024).

Planning for the Operation has taken place over many months, and the NSWPF has been working with partner agencies including the UK Royal and Specialist protection team, to provide an operational response.

General and specialist police will be deployed throughout the operation to manage the movement of the King and Queen between engagements, and to provide a safe environment for visiting dignitaries and the community.

As part of the operation, a number of traffic diversions and road closures will be implemented.

Members of the public are also reminded to familiarise themselves with rules relating to operating drones in restricted areas, as anyone who breaches no-fly zones will be dealt with appropriately.

The NSWPF has extensive experience and significant capability to oversee close personal protection, motorcades, and crowd management for all visiting dignitaries in NSW.
