Police are investigating a serious multi-vehicle crash in the state’s Riverina region yesterday, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to the Olympic Highway at Bethungra, about 30km north of Junee, just after 10.45am (Saturday 12 May 2018), after reports of a four-vehicle crash.
It is believed a south bound Ford Courier hit the other vehicles from behind while they were stopped at roadworks.
The driver of the Ford Courier, a 60-year-old woman from Bethungra, was taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the Ford Territory, a 42-year-old woman from Cootamundra, and her 13-year-old female passenger were taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital in a stable condition.
The driver of the Mazda 3, a 63-year-old woman from Moruya, was uninjured.
The driver of the Toyota Kluger, a 71-year-old man from Marayong, was uninjured.
Officers from Riverina Police District, with the assistance from the Southern Region and Metropolitan Crash Investigation Units, established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Any person with information about the crash who has not yet spoken to police is urged to come forward.
