A search is underway for the driver of a vehicle after a woman was seriously injured following a single-vehicle crash at Toukley overnight.
About 1.20am (Thursday 12 October 2023), emergency services were called to Main Road, Toukley, following reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrived to find a Mitsubishi Magna hatch had crashed into a power pole, and the driver had allegedly fled the scene.
The passenger, a 42-year-old woman, was assessed at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene was declared and is being investigated by officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District and the Crash Investigation Unit.
