The Innovation & Excellence awards program, which is now in its 42nd year in partnership with Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB), highlights ground-breaking innovations and exceptional leadership in Australia's property industry.
Lendlease's Salesforce Tower took home the 2024 Investa Award for Best Office Development thanks to its transformation of the city's skyline. The tower sets the future standard for workplaces with flexible floors, advanced sustainability and technology features.
Vicinity Centres took home the Property Council Academy Award for Best Shopping Centre Development for its Bankstown Central Grand Market Redevelopment. The revamped Bankstown Central has captured the vibrant multicultural spirit of the community, providing everything needed to bring family and community together.
Essence Project Management, Make Architects & Built took homes the Holmes Award for Best Heritage Development for Capella Sydney. After a seven-year restoration, the heritage-listed building has flourished, merging classic architecture with modern elegance.
Dexus was awarded the GHD Design Award for Best Sustainable Development for its globally leading sustainable development Quay Quarter Tower. Instead of demolishing the 1976 skyscraper, the building was upcycled and expanded to create a state-of-the-art tower.
Property & Development NSW won the Yardi Award for Best Workplace Project for the NSW Government Workplace Hub at 6 Parramatta Square. The project exemplifies excellent design and sustainability, promoting flexible work and reinforcing the NSW Government's commitment to providing high-quality, inclusive environments for its staff.
6&8 Parramatta Square by Walker Corporation won the Property Council of Australia People's Choice Award. The project is the final tower in a premier mixed-use precinct, offering a 55-storey commercial space and featuring state-of-the-art workplaces, elevated retail and a vibrant public domain.
Property Council NSW Executive Director Katie Stevenson said NSW's performance at the Awards demonstrated the depth and breadth of property sector talent in the state.
"NSW continues to lead the way in shaping Australia's urban future, with these awards highlighting our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community-focused development.
"The achievements celebrated tonight reflect the exceptional talent and vision within our property sector, setting new benchmarks for excellence that will inspire future projects across the country.
"Winning six awards is a testament to the collaborative efforts of our industry in NSW, showcasing how we are building for today and setting the standard for the cities of tomorrow."
RLB NSW Managing Director Stephen Mee who provided cost management and quantity surveying towards several of the NSW winning developments said they each represented the state's pioneering spirit.
"The innovation and excellence emerging from our state are truly remarkable, and these awards honour the businesses and individuals who have accomplished so much," Mr Mee said.
"NSW is consistently pushing the limits of creative and sustainable design, and the outcomes of these awards clearly demonstrate this fact," he said.
In collaboration with RLB since 1982, the prestigious awards have promoted excellence in design and innovation in the built environment. From eligible finalists, the winners were selected by a high calibre judging panel made up of 19 property specialists and chaired by Adrian Harrington.
