Three New South Wales players have kicked off 2024 as multi-millionaires after each securing a division one prize in Oz Lotto's $98 million Boxing Day draw.
On December 26, 2023, the triumphant trio each walked away with a life-changing $32,629,794.23 as the results of Draw 1558 came out.
Among the fortunate trio are a father from Sutherland Shire and a Campbelltown man, both of whom purchased their tickets online. The third winner, who bought their ticket at a NSW Lotteries outlet in the Cumberland Shire, remains elusive. Despite being registered to a player card, lottery officials have been unable to contact them.
The Sutherland Shire dad initially mistook his $32 million win for $32,000, expressing disbelief upon learning the actual amount. He plans to buy a house, secure his children's future, and enjoy an overseas holiday. His System QuickPick entry was bought online at thelott.com.
Sutherland Shire Dad Bags $32 million
A Sutherland Shire dad getting ready for bed this evening mistakenly thought he’d won $32,000, rather than his true prize of $32 million.
“What!?! Thirty-two million!?” he exclaimed when a lotto official clarified his prize over phone.
“I read it as $32,000! I didn’t read it properly.
“That is so awesome! That is insane. That’s crazy.
“I saw there was a big draw tonight and I just thought, ‘stuff it, I’m going for it’.
“I can’t believe it! This type of thing doesn’t happen to someone like me.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
While admitting he was unlikely to get much sleep after the multi-million-dollar revelation, the man shared some initial thoughts on how he might use the prize.
“I want to buy a house, set the kids up and enjoy a holiday overseas,” he said.
“Family is everything to me!”
His winning System QuickPickentry was purchased online at the official website.
Campbelltown man last-minute decision not to miss out yields $32 million win
A Campbelltown man and his wife are contemplating an early retirement after discovering they’re now $32 million from tonight’s Oz Lotto draw.
“Oh my god!” he exclaimed when his prize was confirmed.
“I can’t believe it! I’m shaking!
“I sometimes play, and today I saw there was a $90 million draw, so I just grabbed a ticket this afternoon.
“I can’t believe it. Thank you!
“It’s a dream come true!
“It’s not just for myself but my entire family. Some of my family have been going through hard times lately and this is going to be a huge help.
"This is such a wonderful thing.
“My wife and I work very hard, but I think an early retirement is on the cards, along with helping our children and family.”
His 25-game QuickPick winning entry was purchased online at the official website.
One Western Sydney Oz Lotto Winner Not Answering
A Cumberland Shire player is starting the new year $32 million richer after winning division one in tonight’s Oz Lotto draw – they just might not know it yet.
Although the entry was registered to a player card, lottery officials were unable to make contact with the winner tonight on the contact details provided and couldn’t deliver the multi-million dollar news.
The winning entry was purchased from a NSW Lotteries outlet in the Cumberland Shire.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart says he was eagerly waiting to speak with the region’s newest multi-millionaire after repeated calls to the winner tonight went unanswered.
“We were ready to confirm the third Oz Lotto division one winner straight after the draw tonight, but sadly whenever we called the number provided, it just rang out and went straight to message bank,” he said.
“If you see a number of missed calls on your phone from Tuesday night, you could be the mystery multi-millionaire we’re urgently trying to contact.
“We’re urging all Oz Lotto players to check their entries as soon as possible. If you discover you are holding the division one winning ticket, contact The Lott immediately on 131 686 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
The winning numbers for Oz Lotto draw 1558 were 17, 44, 22, 42, 31, 24, and 28, with supplementary numbers 3, 16, and 39.
