The Northern Territory has recorded one new case of COVID-19.
The case is not linked to the NT outbreak, with the total number of cases remaining at 94.
The case arrived on a repatriation flight from Johannesburg and is in quarantine at the Centre for National Resilience. Genomic sequencing is underway.
COVID-19 testing
Almost 3,200 COVID-19 tests were processed across the NT yesterday.
Wastewater testing for Tennant Creek has returned a positive result, which may indicate there is undetected COVID-19 in the community.
It is important everyone in Tennant Creek gets tested for COVID-19, regardless of symptoms or recent travel.
The Tennant Creek Drive Through Testing Facility is open from 7am to 2pm and is located at the Greyhound Transit Centre on Paterson Street.
COVID-19 testing sites are also open in Katherine, Alice Springs, Nhulunbuy and Darwin and testing is available at NT Health clinics in remote communities.
To arrange a COVID-19 test please book online or contact the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 490 484.
COVID-19 vaccination
With border entry requirements for people travelling to the NT set to change from Monday, it is critical all Territorians get the COVID-19 vaccine. You can book online or call the COVID-19 Hotline on 1800 490 484.
Booster doses are available to everyone aged 18 years and over, who has had both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, at least five months ago.
Border Entry - High risk settings
From December 20, people who have travelled to the NT from interstate or overseas and need to enter a high risk setting are required to follow all of the border entry requirements. In addition, if they wish to visit a high risk setting within the first 7 days following arrival in the NT, on each day they visit they must present evidence of a negative RAT test taken on the same day prior to entry, and wear a mask while on site.
High risk settings include aged care facilities, residential disability facilities, correctional facilities and hospitals.
To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in our communities, it is important for everyone to follow all the health directions.
