ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:
A broad trough is slow-moving over central parts of the NT, creating a build up of moisture across central and southern districts.
Catchments in the Flood Watch area are relatively dry.
Daily scattered totals of 40 - 80 mm are possible from Saturday to Monday, with isolated falls of more than 100 mm across the Flood Watch area.
Some roads, and possibly primary and secondary highways may be affected with accumulated rainfall over the next few days. Some communities and homesteads may become isolated. Check road conditions before travelling.
Flood Safety Advice:
The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should:
• Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways.
• Prepare for flooding and move away while safe to do so.
• Don't drive into floodwaters.
