ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC:

Weather Situation: An outflow boundary from previous thunderstorm activity is advancing westwards along the Carpentaria coast this afternoon, triggering new thunderstorms that are likely to produce damaging wind gusts.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Alyangula, Ngukurr and Numbulwar.

100 km/h wind gust was recorded at Centre Island at 12:14 pm.
