Pharmacy Assistant, Karisa Lunn, from Blooms the Chemist Bakewell has been chosen to represent the Northern Territory at the National Finals of the 2024 Pharmacy Guild of Australia/Maxigesic Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY).
Karisa was selected from three State Finalists at the Northern Territory workshop on Thursday 27 June 2024, where participants demonstrated their pharmacy knowledge and showcased their skills in customer service and leadership.
Now in its 18th year, PATY is the premier award for pharmacy assistants in Australia.
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia's Northern Territory Branch President, Peter Hatswell, congratulated Karisa for her valuable contribution to community pharmacy in Australia.
"PATY was established to recognise Pharmacy Assistants who go above and beyond in assisting patients and are proactive in their careers," said Mr. Hatswell.
"Karisa has shown exceptional dedication to her role and to the pharmacy industry, which perfectly embodies the spirit of this award."
Mr. Hatswell also said, "I applaud Karissa for being recognised as the Northern Territory's leading Pharmacy Assistant."
By participating in the National Finals, Karissa will be in the running to take home over $10,000 in prizes including a $5,000 cash prize, educational opportunities, and other great rewards.

"It has been wonderful to see so many qualified participating in this year's PATY judging," shared Ms. Hume. "I congratulate Karisa on being chosen as the winner and representative for the Northern Territory at the National Finals."
