NT Police Pursue Leads on Alice Springs Aggravated Assault 19 August

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a disturbance that occurred in Alice Springs on Sunday.

Around midday, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports of armed persons fighting near a service station on Railway Terrace.

Reports indicated that a number of people were gathered in the area, but the fighting was limited to a few persons. A male offender allegedly armed with a blunt weapon had assaulted two women aged 24 and 25 years-old, resulting in injuries to their heads.

The 24-year-old female victim attended Alice Springs Police Station to seek assistance and was conveyed to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

The 25-year-old female victim is assisting police with enquires.

The male offender remains outstanding, and police investigations are ongoing
