The Finocchiaro CLP Government has joined Paspalis, investment firm SEEDS Capital and a group of tech start-ups to expand opportunities between the Northern Territory and Singapore.

Minister for Trade Business and Asian Relations Robyn Cahill said the event reinforced the depth and talent we have in the Territory to innovate and support the growth of tech start-ups in our region.

"The Northern Territory has a proven track record for delivering significant and innovative projects and Paspalis' new partnership with SEEDS will support the advancement of new technological opportunities within our region," she said.

"Singapore provides a prime location for the Territory to develop business relationships and create strategic long-term partnerships. As the gateway to Australia and Southeast Asia, the Northern Territory is uniquely placed to be a globally connected centre for innovation and investment.

"We promised Territorians we would rebuild the economy, and that 2025 would be a year of action, certainty and security."

The event comes as Paspalis is announced as one of 20 new global partners at Singapore investment firm, SEEDS Capital, to help unlock new tech investments.

SEEDS is an investment arm of SG Growth Capital, which is the strategic investment platform for the Singapore Government's Economic Development Board.

Over the next three years, it plans to accelerate investment in areas such as advanced manufacturing, med tech, agrifood tech, sustainability, space tech and quantum tech.

Since 2017, SEEDS has deployed more than A$260 million and stimulated more than A$1.1 billion of private sector investments into more than 160 companies.

Paspalis will provide resources and networks to support start-ups exploring and entering new markets, customer acquisition and diversifying supply chains.

CEO of Paspalis Corporation, Harley Paroulakis, said: "Singapore is a global innovation leader. The Northern Territory complements that strength by offering deep tech startups something few places can - vast open areas, industry access, and testbed-ready terrain."

"We're proud to work with some of Singapore's most exciting deep tech founders, helping them commercialise and scale their innovations through our projects in the Territory," he said.

The Paspalis partnership with SEEDS will also leverage the existing $20 million co-investment fund between Paspalis and the Northern Territory Government.

It was established to support business growth, particularly in digital technology and future industries.
