Today, a total of 1,447 Northern Territory students received their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET), which is 78 more compared to 2023.

257 of the NTCET completers are Aboriginal students from across the Territory.

Compared to 2023, the Government sector recorded an increase of 53 completers while the non-government sector recorded an increase of 25 completers.

Minister for Education and Training Jo Hersey said the results are a testament to the commitment of our senior secondary students across the Territory who have worked hard to reach this significant milestone.

"These results are also a reflection of students' families, teachers and schools, who have supported our students throughout their studies to achieve such fantastic results," she said.

Government school attainment rate has steadily increased over the last three years for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students, with an increase of 1.7 percentage points recorded between 2023 and 2024, which is consistent with a year-on-year upwards trend in NTCET outcomes.

Darwin High School had 341 NTCET completers this year, 13 of whom are in the top 20 students across the NT.

Among our regional schools, Centralian Senior College had 70 NTCET completers, St Philip's College had 50 completers, and Katherine High School had 40 completers, with some of the students gaining community-led cultural learning credits towards their NTCET completion.

There was an increase of NTCET completers at Ramingining and the Henbury School has produced another 20 completers in 2024, representing an increase of 45 percentage points since 2022.
