NTU Honored Internationally for Innovation Drive

NTU has been recognised with a prestigious international award for its excellence in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Startup Ecosystem Stars Award recognises the significant contributions of NTU's innovation and enterprise company NTUitive, in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Singapore.

Presented by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Mind the Bridge, a global innovation platform, the award is presented globally to organisations that excel in promoting innovation ecosystems. It is awarded in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the European Commission, supported by Microsoft.

The award was presented to NTU at the Startup Ecosystem Stars (SES) Awards ceremony held in Paris earlier this month. NTU's latest accolade recognises the University's ongoing efforts to cultivate a dynamic innovation ecosystem through its Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) initiative, launched in 2023. Through various programmes, the University has empowered startups, supporting cutting-edge research translation and industry collaborations.

NTU Prof Louis Phee, Vice President (Innovation & Entrepreneurship) said: "This international recognition underscores NTU's commitment to driving impactful innovation that will bring impact to the global community. The continued success of NTU's I&E shows our capability to foster groundbreaking ideas and turn them into market-ready solutions, contributing to the growth of Singapore's economy and beyond."

Bolstered by the recognition, NTU will continue to advance innovation, leveraging its deeptech expertise and collaborative approach to develop high-value spin-offs and create a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem.

This year's SES Awards recognised 64 organisations from 36 countries, with 35 named Startup Ecosystem Stars and 29 designated Rising Stars.
