A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been established between the department and the Clean Energy Regulator (CER) to deliver the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) Unit Registry (the registry).
The registry is an online portal for regulated entities to track and manage unit transactions in accordance with the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard Act 2024 (NVES Act).
The CERs registry provider Trovio will be engaged to develop and deliver the registry for the NVES.
This will provide a tailored solution for the NVES Regulator, enable compliance with tight legislative deadlines and enable ongoing collaboration with regulated entities and industry stakeholders.
The NVES Regulator is responsible for establishing and managing the registry, which is expected to be operational by 1 February 2026.
