Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash on SH1, Topuni, Kaipara District.
Police were alerted to the crash, involving two vehicles, around 8.50pm.
Initial indications are six people have received injuries ranging from critical to moderate.
A helicopter has been dispatched.
Diversions are in place at Kaiwaka and Te Hana.
The road is closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
