Police can now confirm one person has died in a crash on Waiapu Rd, Tokomaru Bay.
Emergency services responded to the single vehicle crash between Puketiti Rd and Te Wehi Rd at around 2.20pm, Friday April 26.
Another person is in a serious condition in Gisborne Hospital.
The road has now re-opened but is down to one lane and is under stop-go management.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
