Police can now release the name of the man who died following a motorcycle crash on Lake Road (SH38), near Tuai, on Tuesday 8 September.
He was Edward De Villiers Winiana, 55, of Foxton Beach.
Police extend their sympathies to his family and friends.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
