OAS Council Reviews IACHR Study on Religious Freedom

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, October 23 at 10:00 EDT (14:00 GMT), in the Simon Bolivar room at OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C., to receive the study of Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) on the Right to Freedom of Conscience and Religion or Belief in the Americas.

The meeting will feature the following speakers:

· The Commissioner and President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, Roberta Clarke

And representatives from civil society and academia:

· Nicolás Panotto;

· Knox Thames; and

· Ofunshi Oba Koso.
