The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 14:30 EDT (18:30 GMT), "to foster an exchange on the possible challenges that the region may face with respect to the consequences of sea level rise and its legal ramifications, including the implications for maritime borders, food security, and human displacement."
