OAS Council to Engage with Permanent Observers

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold a seventh special meeting of the Permanent Council devoted to Permanent Observers accredited at the Hemispheric Organization, under the theme: "in the face of current challenges: Cooperation and solidarity," on Thursday, December 6 at 14:30 EST (19:30 GMT) in the Ruben Dario room at F St at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

The meeting will include the participation of:

• The Chair of the Permanent Council and Permanent Representative of Belize, Lynn Raymond Young; The OAS Secretary General, Luis Almagro;

• The State Secretary for Ibero-America and the Caribbean and Spanish around the World, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, Susana Sumelzo Jordán;

• The Permanent Observer of Italy, Roberto Nocella;

• The Minister of State for Francophonie and International Partnerships, Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Thani Mohamed-Soilihi; (to be confirmed);

• The Permanent Observer of Holy See, Monsignor Juan Antonio Cruz Serrano;

• The Permanent Observer of Japan, Takehiro Shimada;

• The Permanent Observer of Germany; Axel Dittmann;

• The head of Global Issues and Innovation, European Union Delegation to the United States of European Union; Javier Sancho

• The Permanent Observer of Liechtenstein, Georg Sparber;

• The Permanent Observer of Morocco; Youssef Amrani;

• The Permanent Observer of Kenya; David Kerich; and

• The Permanent Observer of Switzerland, Christoph Sommer.
