The Allan Labor Government is making sure Oasis fans can get their tickets at a fair price to the recently announced concerts in Melbourne, declaring their Oasis Live '25 tour a major event.
Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos today announced a major event ticketing declaration for Oasis' Melbourne concerts, which means tickets will be protected under the state's tough anti-scalping laws.
Declaring the concert a major event will help deter scalpers from snatching up highly coveted tickets, allowing more Victorian fans to be a part of the Gallagher brothers' momentous return to Australia.
Tickets to a declared major event can't be advertised or resold for more than 10 per cent above their original value. Ticket package sellers are also required to be authorised by the event organiser, and individual ticket sellers must also include ticket and seating details. Any ticket sellers who do not comply are subject to hefty fines.
Oasis will perform at Marvel Stadium on 31 October and 1 November 2025, and fans not wanting to look back in anger should get their presale tickets on Monday, 14 October at 12pm. The general public sale will follow at 10am, Tuesday, 15 October.
The Oasis Live '25 tour is shaping up to be one of the biggest live music events of 2025 as the band hasn't played together in Australia for 19 years.
When the band announced their North American tour earlier this year, all nine dates sold out within an hour - with 500,000 tickets flying out the door at electric speed.
Oasis Live '25 is the latest event to be classified as a major event in Victoria, joining the likes of the upcoming 2024 Meredith Music Festival, this year's Australia v India Boxing Day Test, and the 2025 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.

As stated by Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos
"The Oasis reunion tour will be one of the biggest concerts to come to our shores in 2025 - and we've declared their Melbourne concerts as major events to make sure fans can see the Gallagher brothers live at a fair price."
"Melbourne is Australia's live music capital, and we have a very clear stance on ticket scalping - do not resell tickets to concerts at inflated prices because you will be fined.''
As stated by Chairman of Live Nation Australasia Michael Coppel
"Oasis Live 25 has been one of the most highly anticipated tours this decade. Fans have an insatiable appetite to see the UK legends live and by declaring this event, Live Nation are committed to making sure fans aren't preyed on by scalpers."
