The City of Perth Council met on Tuesday October 29. The following decisions were made:
New Deputy Lord Mayor elected
Cr Bruce Reynolds has been elected as the City of Perth's new Deputy Lord Mayor at a Special Council Meeting.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas congratulated Cr Reynolds on his election and said he looked forward to working side-by-side with him and the rest of his Council colleagues to continue to deliver real progress for the City and its ratepayers, residents, and visitors alike.
"Cr Reynolds has been a great addition to Council since he was elected in 2023 and an outstanding advocate for the Perth community," he said.
Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas took this opportunity to thank outgoing Deputy Lord Mayor, Cr Clyde Bevan, for his contribution to the role.
Biking and walking
A new Bike Plan was adopted by Council designed to guide the City's future project priorities for the next ten years.
Since the City's Cycle Plan 2029 was adopted 12 years ago, the City has encouraged more people to ride bikes for transport and built a strong foundation for its bike network.
The plan aims to create a safe and convenient bike riding environment for bikes over the next decade and includes capital works projects, planning initiatives, advocacy to State Government agencies and promotional activity for all major bike projects.
