A police officer has been charged over the alleged recording and distribution of intimate images.
In September 2021, officers attached to the Professional Standards Command established Strike Force Sum to investigate allegations that a constable – attached to a command in the Central Metropolitan Region – had recorded and distributed intimate images.
Following inquiries, the 29-year-old man, was today (Thursday 20 July 2023) issued with a court attendance notice for one count of intentionally record intimate image without consent and two counts of intentionally distribute image without consent.
He will appear before Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 31 August 2023.
The officer's employment status is under review.
