Following inquiries, a 26-year-old senior constable attached to a Northern Region Command, was issued with a future court attendance notice for reckless wounding today (Tuesday 29 October 2024).

He is due to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Wednesday 11 December 2024.

Police will allege in court the officer struck a 17-year-old boy in the head twice with a radio while he was being handcuffed.

The officer's employment status is currently under review.
