Officer Charged Post-Crash in NW Metro Region

An off-duty police officer has been charged following an investigation into a two-vehicle crash at Woodcroft in September last year.

About 5.10am on Friday 6 September 2024, an off-duty police officer was driving a Ford Ranger utility on Eucumbene Drive at Woodcroft, when he allegedly failed to give way to a motorcycle at the intersection of Richmond Road.

The rider of the motorcycle, an 18-year-old man, was thrown from the motorcycle and sustained fractures to the right arm, left hand and abrasions.

Officers from Blacktown Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Following inquiries, the 23-year-old constable – attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region - was issued a court attendance notice for negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm).

The man is expected to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Tuesday 4 March 2025.
