Officer Charged - Southern Region 19 September

A police officer has been charged with allegedly supplying prohibited drugs in the state's south.

In September 2024, officers attached to Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation into reports an officer was allegedly supplying prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries, a search warrant was executed at a home in Wagga Wagga this morning (Thursday 19 September 2024) where a number of items were seized for forensic examination.

A 36-year-old male Senior Constable – attached to a command within the Southern Region – was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drugs and knowingly deal in proceeds of crime.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 13 November 2024.

The man is suspended with pay and his employment status is under review.
