Officer Charged - Southern Region 4 September

A police officer has been charged over the alleged assault of two teens while on duty in the state's south last year.

On 31 October 2023, the officer – a senior constable attached to the Southern Region – is alleged to have assaulted two 17-year-old teenagers.

Both teens were arrested; however, released without charge.

Following an investigation, the officer was yesterday (Tuesday 3 September 2024) issued a future court attendance notice for two counts of common assault.

He is due to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on 14 October 2024.

The officer is currently suspended with pay.
