A police officer has been charged after an alleged stealing on the state's south coast.
On Sunday 26 January 2025, officers attached to South Coast Police District commenced investigation into an alleged stealing at a licenced venue on St George Avenue, Sussex Inlet.
Police were told $265 in cash was allegedly stolen from a wallet left at the venue.
Following inquiries, on Monday 7 April 2025, police issued a 37-year-old man, who is a serving NSW police officer attached to the Central Metropolitan Region, a Court Attendance Notice charged with larceny value less than $2000.
He is due to appear before Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 27 May 2025.
The officer's employment status is currently under review.
