A police officer has been charged over the alleged assault of a woman and three teens while on duty in the state's south last year.
On Sunday 29 October 2023, police attended an incident at a Batemans Bay shopping centre when an officer – a senior constable attached to the Southern Region – allegedly assaulted three teenage girls – two aged 13 and one aged 17 – and a 49-year-old woman.
Following an investigation, yesterday (Thursday 7 November 2024) the 37-year-old officer was issued a court attendance notice for four counts of common assault.
He will appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 25 November 2024.
The officer is currently suspended with pay.
