A police officer has been charged following an alleged unauthorised access in Sydney's southwest.
In August 2024, officers attached to Professional Standards Command began an investigation under Strike Force Chillawong, to investigate reports restricted police information was being passed onto a criminal network.
Following extensive inquiries, earlier today (Monday 3 March 2025), a 30-year-old man – a senior constable attached to the Southwest Metropolitan Region – was charged with five counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer.
He is expected to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
The officer is currently suspended with pay.
His employment status is under review.
