An off-duty police officer has been charged with drink-driving.
Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting random breath testing as part of Operation Nabbed on the Hume Motorway, Menangle, when the driver was stopped, about 9.20pm on Friday (9 February 2024).
The driver - a 35-year-old man - was subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned with a positive result.
He was arrested and underwent an on-site breath analysis, which returned with a reading of 0.102.
The man – a senior constable attached to the Specialist Command – was issued a court attendance notice for drive with middle range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
He is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Thursday 21 March 2024.
His licence was suspended.
His employment status is currently under review.
