A police officer has been charged with an alleged domestic violence offence.
In October, police attached to a South West Metropolitan Region Command commenced an investigation into an alleged domestic violence incident.
Following inquiries, a senior constable attached to a specialist command was taken to Bankstown Police Station on Monday 14 October 2024.
The 38-year-old man was charged with common assault (DV).
The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 16 October 2024.
Police will allege in court the man pushed a woman known to him against a wall in mid-September 2024.
The officer's employment status is under review.
