A serving NSW Police Force officer has been charged following a criminal investigation for wearing military service decorations on his police uniform that he was not entitled to.
The Senior Constable was subject to the investigation when complaints were received after he appeared on a television show in 2018. It is alleged that the 45-year-old wore three military awards on his police uniform – two of which did not allow him to wear the third Infantry Combat Badge.
At 11.40am today (Monday 29 July 2019), the Senior Constable was charged with wear service decoration when not entitled and falsely represent to be returned soldier.
He was served a future court attendance notice and will appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 10 September 2019.
