Additional charges have been laid as part of an investigation into the supply of cannabis in Sydney's south-west.
In March 2022, Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Ince to investigate the activities of a syndicate believed to be involved in 'dial-a dealer'-style supply of cannabis.
During their investigations, a referral was made to the Professional Standard Command, who commenced inquiries in conjunction with Wetherill Park RES.
Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators, with assistance from Bankstown RES, South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group and Raptor Squad, executed search warrants at Lurnea, Carnes Hill, Liverpool and Busby on Thursday 25 August 2022.
During the searches, police seized electronic devices, 4.6kg of cannabis, $50,000 cash, vehicles, an electronic stun device, a ballistics vest, and clothing relevant to the investigation.
Three men – aged 27, 31 and 42 – and a 58-year-old woman were arrested and charged. Their matters remain before the courts.
On Thursday 1 September 2022, following further enquiries additional charges were laid including two counts of supply prohibited drug and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime. The 31-year-old man is a Senior Constable attached to a specialist command.
He remains bail refused and is next due to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (Monday 12 September 2022).
The officer is suspended without pay.
