Officer Charged With Shoplifting - South Coast

A police officer has been charged with a stealing offence on the state's south coast.

On Sunday 7 July 2024, officers attached to South Coast Police District commenced an investigation into an alleged shoplifting incident on Queen Street, Berry.

Following inquiries, today (Thursday 15 August 2024), a 51-year-old constable attached to a specialist command was issued a court attendance notice for shoplifting value less than or equal to $2000.

He will appear at Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 24 September 2024.

The officer's employment status is under review.
