A section of the courtyard mural

Tura Marrang Library invites the local community to the official launch of its courtyard mural on Friday 26 July at 11am.
Council's Library Services Coordinator, Yvette Parker said the 11-metre mural was designed by Lucinda Thurston and painted by Lucinda, Bianca Bellicanta and Indigo Murray.
"Bianca, who is the leader of the Bush & Us project, secured funding under the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation's Backing the Future initiative to create this mural," Ms Parker said.
"The Bush & Us project supports local young people to connect to the community and nature through the development of their own projects, which range from reviving community spaces, producing podcasts and environmental awareness infographics and running waste education programs."
Bianca said the inspiration for the mural was drawn from the Bega Valley's extraordinary local flora and fauna.
"We truly live in such a beautiful place and we wanted to celebrate our nature in a colourful and fun way for all ages to enjoy for years to come," Bianca said.
"It was also a way of supporting local young emerging artists in the shire.
"Working with such talented artists was exciting, particularly watching them detail animals and plants with such skill.
"We are very thankful to the Tura Marrang Library for making this dream a reality."
