Official Opening For City Staging

The new City Staging Facility was officially opened by the Commissioner for Police Grant Stevens, and Minister for Police Dan Cregan today.

Commissioner Stevens said South Australia Police acknowledges the strategic importance of this site in our ongoing efforts to enhance SAPOL's operational capabilities and protect the community of South Australia.

"The purpose-built facility has office space, six kennels, 12 stables and a round yard to support SAPOL's operational capabilities in the city and has been used operationally by Mounted and Dog operations since November," he said.

"The facility has been functioning well, enabling them to continue to deliver a high-visibility presence in the CBD."

While it is likely there will be a police presence at the site most days of the week, it is primarily a safe and secure location to prepare and rest horses when they are on deployment in the city, there will be no public access to the site.
