The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) has been selected for the FY2024 "Regional Core University Innovation Creation Enhancement Program" by the Cabinet Office. With this, OIST will work to drive innovation through research, education and the participation of various stakeholders in research testbeds, with the goal of actualizing the "Public Private University Partnership (PUPP) Okinawa Model". This will pave the way for fruitful collaborations with institutions and companies throughout Japan and abroad, as well as fostering a startup ecosystem in Okinawa. The aims of these initiatives are to create new jobs, strengthen the competitiveness of the local economy, and contribute to solving regional challenges while ensuring sustainable growth.
