The Snowy Monaro community are advised that several old phone numbers from the former Snowy River, Cooma-Monaro and Bombala councils will be disconnected from 4pm Monday 16 December 2024.

These legacy numbers have remained active since the council merger in 2016, but are being phased out as part of Council's transition to a new phone system.

Council is asking residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to check their saved numbers and address books. The main contact number for all Council enquiries has been 1300 345 345 since 2016.

The 1300 number ensures all residents can easily contact Council, no matter where they are in our region, or which part of our organisation they need to speak with.

Only direct landline numbers in use from before the 2016 Council merger are affected by this change, with calls to these old numbers accounting for only a small proportion of Council's total call volume.

If you have any old direct-line numbers saved or use any of these to contact us, please switch over to using 1300 345 345 now. These numbers will not work after 4pm on Monday 16 December 2024.

Council is asking residents to update their contact lists and inform their family and friends of this change, particularly those who may rely on hard-copy address books, or landline phone memory or address book functions.

Long-standing direct numbers for landfills (tips) will not be affected by this change, nor will any direct lines to staff or facilities that have been in place since the 2016 merger.

Residents can contact Council by email at [email protected] or call us on 1300 345 345 with any questions about this upcoming transition.
