Olyroos squad confirmed for Maurice Revello Tournament

Subway Olyroos' Head Coach Tony Vidmar has now confirmed his squad for the Maurice Revello Tournament, with train-on player Alou Kuol being selected in the final 24.

The selection of the 21-year-old forward, who plays for VfB Stuttgart in Germany, will see him join younger brother, Garang, at this prestigious tournament to be contested at six venues across Aix-en-Provence in France from 6 - 18 June.

Koul's selection follows a six-day training camp at the AIS European Training Centre in Varese, Italy, where both the camp and tournament provide ideal preparation for September's AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 qualifiers.

Vidmar also confirmed that Jacob Farrell and Nectarios Triantis (Central Coast Mariners FC) plus Callum Talbot and Marco Tilio (Melbourne City FC) will miss Australia's first match due to their late arrival following the Isuzu UTE A-League Men 2022/23 Grand Final played in Sydney on Saturday, 3 June.

Usually a U-23 tournament, the 2023 edition of the Maurice Revello will support the competing teams to best prepare for their respective Paris 2024 Olympic qualification campaigns, where each team will play a minimum of four matches over a 12-day period.

Since the tournament draw took place in March, Togo has withdrawn from the event and has been replaced by a "Mediterranean Select" team featuring players from professional clubs in the Mediterranean region who were born 2001-2004.

Australia has been drawn in Group B with Qatar (6 June, Aubagne), Togo replaced by Mediterranean Select (9 June, Mallemort) and Mexico (12 June, Aubagne). Group A features Costa Rica, France, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela with Group C comprising of Morocco, Ivory Coast, Japan and Panama.

Broadcast Details

All group stage matches involving Australia will be LIVE on ESPN, Channel 509 on Foxtel, while all other group stage matches (including Australia's) plus the semi-finals and final will be streamed LIVE via the WatchESPN App.
