More than 300 Defence personnel - the biggest number to date - competed in the 2024 ADF Netball Combined Tournament in Melbourne with women's, men's and mixed teams from all three services taking part from November 17-22.
New South Wales claimed the mixed and women's titles, while South-East Queensland took home the men's division trophy. Each service also received a shield for their outstanding performances during the services day.
ADF Netball President Wing Commander Jacqui Carswell said the competition was hugely successful.
"The services day was outstanding, with each service taking home a shield."
Wing Commander Carswell also acknowledged the inclusive nature of the event, with players from all service categories (SERCATs 3, 5 and 7) participating, including notable representation from Tasmania.
To prioritise athletes' wellbeing, adjustments were made to reduce fatigue and injury risk, resulting in a successful tournament with limited injuries.
"We take our athlete health and wellbeing seriously and aim to send them [players] home happy and healthy," Wing Commander Carswell said.
This year's event underscored the strength of netball as an example of the ADF's integrated force, bringing together personnel from across the nation and services in a competitive yet supportive environment.
