Police are investigating a fatal crash which occurred on the state’s south coast yesterday.
About 1pm today, emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Central Tilba, about 10km south of Narooma, following reports of a crash, NSW Police say.
Initial investigations suggest a Toyota Corolla and a Toyota Land Cruiser crashed head-on.
Officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command attended.
The driver of the Corolla, a 19-year-old woman, died at the scene. The passenger, a 19-year-old man, was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The driver of the Land Cruiser, a 19-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Bega Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
The three teenage passengers of the Land Cruiser were treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Bega Hospital with minor injuries.
A crime scene was established and investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit were also in attendance.
The Princes Highway was closed during the incident, but has now reopened.
A brief will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are investigating and are urging witnesses to come forward.
