One dies, two injured in crash near Tamworth, NSW

A woman has died and two people are injured after a two-vehicle crash near Tamworth this morning, NSW Police say.

Just after 8am today, emergency services were called to the New England Highway, Moonbi, about 30km from Tamworth, after reports a Nissan Pulsar sedan and a Honda HR-V collided.

The driver of the Nissan Pulsar, an 82-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by paramedics. She died en route to Tamworth Base Hospital.

The driver of the Honda, a 61-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 46-year-old woman, were treated at the scene for minor injuries, before being taken to Tamworth Base Hospital in stable conditions.

Officers attached to Oxley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
