Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate welcomed the presence of G20 delegates in Bali to continue the discussions at the fourth Digital Economy Working Group (DEWG) meeting in Indonesia's G20 Presidency.
"Welcome to Bali, Om Swastiastu (Hindus religious greeting), Rahajeng Semeng (good morning) and Rahajeng Wengi (good evening) everyone. With all my heart and joy, I welcome all of you, the delegates of G20 member countries and invitees who have taken your time to be here in person and join us through virtual means," greeted him when opening the 4th DEWG Meeting at the Mulia Resort Hotel, in Bali, Monday (August 29).
The Minister of Communications and Informatics appreciated the collaboration of G20 DEWG delegates in discussing the global digital agenda. "By having the DEWG meetings, I am confident of the measures taken by the G20 Presidency so far and encourage member countries and invitees to have productive discussions in the next few days," he said.
Johnny also appreciated the hard work the DEWG Chair Mira Tayyiba and Alternate Chair Dedy Permadi had put in to map out the direction of DEWG discussions which covers three priority issues in all meetings and two inter-session meetings.
"I am grateful, we will soon conclude the discussion of the Bali Package document. Let's collaborate to complete the Bali Package with the spirit of togetherness in achieving a resilient recovery for a more inclusive, empowering, and sustainable digital transformation. Recover Together, Recover Stronger," he said.
Previously, DEWG series of meetings were held in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara; Special Region of Yogyakarta, and Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. In addition, there have also been two workshops and two inter-session meetings to discuss the global digital transformation agenda.
