Officers from NSW Police Districts are expected to participate in Anzac Day commemorations across the state's Northern Region tomorrow.
While Sydney CBD commands are involved in a major high-visibility policing operation to support the march of up to 12,000 servicemen and their families tomorrow (Thursday 25 April 2024), services regionally will be attended and managed by local police.
Members of the community are advised to check for official events with their local returned service organisations; however, any major road closures will be flagged via Transport NSW's http://www.livetraffic.com site.
NSW Police are urging anyone planning on attending scheduled local events to do so safely and respectfully.
Licensing police will be patrolling in and around licensed venues to respond to any incidents of alcohol-related crime or anti-social behaviour.
The road traffic safety campaign launched at 12.01am last Wednesday (24 April 2024), with double demerit points in place until 11.59pm on Sunday 28 April 2024, coinciding with the end of the school holidays.
