NSW Police are reminding drivers about their responsibility to drive safely on our roads.
Operation Crossroads was conducted from 6am on Thursday 23 May 2024 until 7pm on Monday 27 May 2024 in the state's Central West.
The Traffic and Highway Patrol Command, together with local police, conducted a traffic enforcement operation targeting all elements of dangerous driving, including speeding and driving under the influence.
During the operation, 722 breath tests were conducted resulting in three drivers charged with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, 108 drug tests with seven drivers returning a positive result, and 98 infringements issued for speeding.
Inspector Jason Bush of Traffic and Highway Patrol's Western Plains Sector, commended road users for their behaviour.
"It was pleasing that there were no serious crashes in the areas where the operation was running." Inspector Bush said.
"Police will continue to conduct similar operations throughout the region to ensure road users are safe.
"Nevertheless, it is still disturbing to see motorists who are driving under the influence of alcohol and illicit drugs.
