Operation Quillon, Capricornia District

Police have charged 41 people with more than 178 offences and allegedly seized more than $40,000 in cash, recovered 2 firearms, seized a quantity of dangerous drugs and located an illicit drug laboratory as part of Operation Quillon last week.

During the multi-agency drug operation led by Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) and Biloela CIB, and involving Taskforce Maxima and Australian Border Force, a 26-year-old Biloela man was charged with two counts of trafficking drugs.

The four-day operation was aimed at disrupting and deterring organised criminal activity in the Capricornia district.

Police executed 26 search warrants from February 27 to March 2 at properties across Biloela, Greycliffe, Dakenba, Mount Larcom, Bracewell, Ambrose, Gracemere, Boyne Island, Toolooa, Gladstone, Clinton, Tannum Sands, Glen Eden, and New Auckland.

During the search warrants, police allegedly seized a quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, GBL, in addition to seizing 10 cannabis plants, and locating two hydroponic set-ups and one illicit drug laboratory.

Of the 41 people charged, one was charged with trafficking dangerous drugs.

A 26-year-old Biloela man was charged with two counts of trafficking dangerous drugs, 66 counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, contravene access order, possessing drugs, possessing utensils, and possessing property suspected to be used in a drug offence.

He is due to appear before Biloela Magistrates Court on April 9.

It will be further alleged that large quantities of amphetamine cocaine, and cash were seized at a Hansen Crescent property at Clinton on March 2.

A 55-year-old Clinton man was charged with two counts of possessing drugs, and one count each of possessing proceeds and possessing a weapon.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Gladstone Magistrates Court on April 28.
