Gympie police have charged a further three men in relation to ongoing hoon operation Victor Coriolis.
A 20-year-old Gympie man was charged with four counts of unlawful photographing, filming or publishing hooning offence and one count of contravene police direction. He is due before Gympie Magistrates Court on 9.
He was also issued two traffic infringement notices (TIN) for failure to wear a seatbelt, at a value of $1161 for each TIN.
An 18-year-old North Deep Creek man was charged with four counts of unlawful photographing, filming or publishing hooning offence and one count of contravene police direction. He is due before Gympie Magistrates Court on October 16.
He was also issued a traffic infringement notice for limb protruding from a vehicle, at a value of $124.
An 18-year-old Widgee man has been charged with two counts each of driving unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured, false plates and one count each of obstruct police and contravene direction. He is due before Gympie Magistrates Court today, September 13.
Gympie Patrol Group Inspector Brad Inskip said police would continue to target, disrupt and prosecute alleged hooning activity across the Gympie area, including those that share their exploits on social media.
"If you are promoting this behaviour by filming it and uploading it to social media, you can expect to be targeted by police.
"We have a zero tolerance approach to this dangerous and reckless behaviour.
"I encourage the community to continue to report hooning activity, as well as any photos or videos of the offences, to Gympie police."
